Radičová: Slovakia and its people stand by Norway

Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová sent a letter of condolences to her Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg on July 23 following Friday's attacks on Oslo city centre and nearby Utoya island.

Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová sent a letter of condolences to her Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg on July 23 following Friday's attacks on Oslo city centre and nearby Utoya island.

In her letter, Radičová expressed her deep sorrow and sympathy on behalf of Slovakia and its people, TASR newswire reported.

She called the killings an attack on the democratic values and principles that Norway represents not only at home but around the world.

"I assure you that at this difficult time the Slovak Republic and its people stand by you as close friends and partners," Radičová said. "I wish you and your country a great deal of strength and energy," wrote the prime minister."
