PRIME Minister-designate Iveta Radičová will travel to Budapest on July 20 together with Czech Prime Minister Petr Nečas, who will arrive in Slovakia the day before.
“Those will be the first visits and work trips,” Radičová said, as quoted by the TASR newswire, when asked which country she would visit first as prime minister. She is also planning to travel to Brussels before July 19.
Radičová is visiting Budapest for a summit of Visegrad Group (V4) prime ministers where she will formally take over the presidency of V4, which Slovakia assumes in July.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi said, as reported by the SITA newswire, that the new Slovak government has a chance to improve relations between the two neighbouring countries.
He said Budapest is ready to hold talks with the Slovak government regarding all the controversial issues which have lately divided them.
