Despite annually racking up billions of crowns in losses, the country’s two state railway firms are building a new Sk500 million ($12 million) headquarters in Bratislava.
The firms say they need the new digs to house their disparate divisions under one roof, but the project has been slammed by critics who say the new government is tightening citizens’ belts while letting state officials gorge.
