Rail workers to strike

Font size: A - | A +

Some 43,000 rail workers announced they would strike for six hours on Wednesday, January 29, to protest planned cuts to local routes affecting almost 20 per cent of traffic.

The cuts, which are intended to reduce losses at the rail firm, have sparked wide protests from people who rely on the local trains to get to work.
