Re: Slovakia 57th in corruption chart, Volume 11, Number 11, March 21 - March 27, 2005

Ordinary citizens should start showing some moral fibre when dealing with doctors, entrepreneurs and public servants, and in the rest of their daily lives.

If Slovaks in general thinks its okay to cheat just for their own benefit, then things will not improve. Pointing the finger at politicians, business people and the like won't do it alone.

Another thing is: What is corruption? Denmark is one of the top countries on this chart, but we also have corruption. I mean to get some kind of service in Slovakia you might have to pass money under the table - in Denmark we call it taxes! It is legal, but it costs us just as much.

Jesper,

Denmark
