I think this is a good way to go because the Austrians can use cheaper Slovak resources to carry out their aid projects and get things done things done more efficiently. Whether they will then undertake more projects or blow the savings on consultants or return them to the taxpayer is up to them.
I wonder if there is a concrete benefit to Slovakia in offsetting some of the aid commitments that the EU expects from them?
The Slovak government can be glad of any cooperation with the Austrians because there is a huge trust gap, and Slovakia does just as little to convince the Austrians that it is not going to poison them with nuclear fallout or destroy their way of life with their dumping prices as Austria does to give Slovakia decent transport links.
