RE: Many Slovaks work abroad, Aug 29 - Sept 4, 2005, Vol 11, No 33
With incomes lower than during Communist times, it is hardly surprising that many Slovaks feel the need to work abroad. [Prime Minister Mikuláš] Dzurinda's neo-liberal policies, following on from Mečiar's own inefficient brand of corruption and clientism, have wreaked a social and cultural disaster on Slovakia, something concealed and screened out of perception by hireling politicians and a sycophantic press that doesn't ask deep and probing questions about the prevailing ideology. Neo-liberalism is the natural successor to Communism
