Re: "Leaving Slovakia: The things unsaid", By Tom Nicholson, Letter from the editor, Vol. 8 No. 38, Oct 7 to Oct 13
Dear Sir,
I have written letters to The Slovak Spectator before, usually in indignant response to a letter or comment I have read there. I now find how much more difficult it is to write in praise of something!
You have taken some flak over the years, Tom, ruffled a few feathers and doubtless made some enemies in the process. Even during some of the more nervous moments in Slovakia's recent history, however, your writing has always been bold and incisive and your integrity evident. Congratulations on the excellent work you have done over the past five years! You are going to be missed and The Spectator will not be the same without you. Nor, in fact, will Slovakia.
