I'm quite happy to go to a restaurant where I can't smoke when I'm eating. As most of them have separate bar areas, that's fine by me.
The restaurants and bars should have a choice of whether they allow smoking or not and I'm happy to abide by that choice. But having it forced on people by the government is not good, especially when the bars in parliament are classed as "private establishments" and would not fall under the licensing laws.
Most smokers I know are sensitive to non-smokers. None of us with a brain would be sat puffing away next to a mother and her kids, unless of course the mother is puffing away herself.
