I'm sure some large multinational tobacco company will sue the government for any loss of business. I hope Slovakia does not become smoke free - you can't beat a smoke and a bottle of Kelt on a sunny evening.
I need to come back to Bratislava soon as I've just finished the last of my ciggies I brought back at Christmas - the price in the UK has gone up to the equivalent of Sk300 for a packet of 20.
Even as a smoker I wouldn't object to a smoking ban in restaurants - bars and pubs would be a different matter.
In the bars I know with a non-smoking section you often find that they are devoid of drinkers - or that the area is full of people eating who then move through to the smoking section to drink.
Most of the big restaurants in London have a total ban on smoking which isn't a problem as they are a destination - people will go there to enjoy the food. So anyway ban smoking in restaurants but not in bars.
