Re: Protests planned against EU talks with Turkey, Flash News, July 12, 2005
The issue of Turkish integration is being used as an electoral trick to get the support of European xenophobic groups.
These xenophobes don't have any arguments. Their behaviour is just a consequence of a deep inferiority complex, and some politicians use Turkey to create an atmosphere of hate and rejection.
Slovakia, as a new partner in the EU, must be ready to start a discussion concerning the expansion of the EU. To allow a demo in Bratislava to shout "I hate the Turks" is bad for Slovakia's image.
