Re: Reader feedback: Stop feeding the habit, Volume 11, Number 26, July 4 - 10, 2005
I don't know if I was lucky, but on the two occasions I visited Slovakia, I used about 20 train services, and only one was late. However, the trains were very crowded, and seemed old (even compared with the UK).
I particularly liked the single-carriage unit used from Bratislava Hlavná stanica (Main station) to Marchegg (just over the border in Austria) - it should be in a museum. Compare this to the Austrian 'Weasel' train that you get from Petržalka!
The Slovak government should invest in their railways, and get as much help from the EU to do this as they can.
