It is generally accepted for children to await Santa Claus in many countries, including here in the US. However, whatever your affiliation to the holiday season, we should at least all agree on one thing: It makes one want to give and it makes us feel good.
The birth of the baby Jesus still holds true in many peoples' hearts.
Christmas is a time of goodwill and hopes of peace to all people. We can at least agree at this time of year to give goodwill and peace a chance. Just follow your heart.
Let us all strive to drop those chips on our shoulders and give each other the benefit of the doubt, just for a little while. You may find out if you try and meet your neighbour at least half way, or maybe a bit more, he or she may just surprise you and greet you from the heart with a "Merry Christmas", "Happy Holidays", or whatever is to their liking. You don't have to be politically correct.
If we all find it in our hearts to be nice and civil to each other, religious or not, believer or not, it might just help to make things a little nicer. Let's try to take that first step.
