I saw a film on Winton's (British stockbroker who organized the rescue of nearly 700 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia in the first half of 1939) story on TV in Melbourne, Australia. Before, and during World War II my parents were sponsors in helping to save Slovak Jewish children by bringing them to England.
Two of these children, a brother and sister lived in our house for some time near the end of WWII.
The girl's name was Luci (Lucy) and her brother's name was Salo. Their family name was Bahoraczaner, or something very similar. I was only 13 years old at the time but I still remember them; they were beautiful and friendly children. My parent's names were Joseph and Bessie Goldberg and the address at the time they were with us was 46, Dorchester Avenue, Palmers Green, London N13.
Our family (my parents have since passed away) emigrated to Australia in 1948 and so we have had no contact with Luci and Salo since this time.
