I think that there are many parallels between human rights violations in the US and the ones that were mentioned in the report [from the US Department of State] on Slovakia.
For example, the Slovak police's treatment of the Roma can be compared to our police's treatment of minorities, especially African Americans and, recently, Arab Americans.
Our justice system is far from perfect and, as a comparison to TV Markiza being accused of favouring the New Citizen's Alliance party, we have our own Fox News, which champions George W Bush and a right-wing conservative agenda.
I think that both countries have things to work on, and the fact that the US has so many faults doesn't make their criticisms more or less true.
