Re: "Right wing wins majority," By Tom Nicholson, Vol. 8 No. 36, September 23-29
I'm glad that the people of Slovakia are looking forward to a new future. Thousands of would-be Slovaks will not be so lucky, including many members of my family who were sent to death camps by their Slovak neighbors; and my grandparents who were murdered by Slovak fascists during the war at Kremnicka.
Before Slovakia can emerge as a respected member of the European community, it must admit and renounce its dark and evil past. The souls of thousands of betrayed and murdered Jews will for ever gnaw at the conscience of the Slovak people until in some way they try in their own souls to confess and repent for their deeds.
