Re: Slovakia's long-empty position in Hungary has finally been filled, By Martina Jurinová, Vol 10, No 29, Jul 26 - Aug 8

Slovak is taught at schools as a compulsory subject. In that case, why are the Slovaks refusing to learn Hungarian in towns and localities like Komárom (Komárno), Dunaszerdahely (Dunajská Streda), Párkány (Štúrovo), etc where the Slovaks are in a minority? Why not teach Hungarian to Slovaks in schools too? This is normal bilingualism in countries like Belgium and Canada.

Surely it would help them survive and integrate into majority life rather than being separatist with their Slovak identity.
