Since people nowadays are prepared to pay handsomely for a lot of giggling and talking about the weather via cell phones, tobacco sponsorship can easily be replaced, while a smoker can easily be reached at a tobacco selling point.
So I don't think anyone will object to the restrictions on tobacco advertising.
An enforced separate smoking section in restaurants, even with a cover charge, is also unlikely to be generally opposed, so I, as an ardent smoker, am actually surprised that the latter legislation is meeting resistance in parliament.
