Re: We're on the map!, Volume 11, Number 7, February 21 - 27, 2005
The Bush visit causes me a dilemma. On the one hand Bush's USA is a major threat to world peace. Having a cowboy in the White House is one thing but having a John Wayne type gunslinger as Commander-in-Chief of one of the most devastating military machines the world has ever seen is another.
On the other hand, Slovakia is a relatively new democracy, a new member of the EU and a country working hard to improve its economy.
Personally I would be one of the last people to welcome Cowboy George and his band of rustlers but I would hope that demonstrations are held in a civil manner and in a manner befitting the people of Slovakia.
At the moment I don't think that "annoying" Bush is a constructive move, especially in this time of war.
After all, we are either with them or against them.
