Re: Bratislava wearies of stag tourism, Volume 12, Number 21, May 29 - June 04, 2006
It's a dilemma, isn't it? We need to promote tourism and want wealthy foreigners to travel here and spend their money, but we don't want the risks that come along with that.
But do the British tourists realise the considerable damage they're doing to their country's image among Slovaks, who already stereotype them as the tourists who urinate into fountains and steal plastic cows?
The number of British tourists has been increasing in Košice as well, and my friends from there have been complaining. I know the stags really could not care less about what impression they leave behind, but I really think they do the greatest harm to their own country.
