RE: Barroso joins V4 criticism of Blair, Flash News, December 1, 2005
As the V4 have only been in the EU for little over a year, surely it would be advisable for them to put into the piggy bank of Europe before the take any money out.
Britain has, over the years she has been a member, paid for not only the motorways of Spain and the tunnels of Italy, it has increased its net input into the CAP.
The V4 should think about what it will gain if Britain gives up its 3 billion pound rebate.
If the level of corruption in the V4 countries is still running as high as Transparency Inter-national (TI) says, a large sum of the money will never reach it destination anyway.
So lets say you can have the rebate, if and only if, you can improve your position in the TI league table in the next year.
An impossible task, perhaps, but worthy of a shot, don't you think?
