Regions opposed to selling hospitals

ONE day after financial group Penta announced it was planning to buy up a network of healthcare facilities in Slovakia, regional administrative bodies and hospitals have voiced their opposition to the plan, according to the daily SME.

The representatives of Slovakia's regional bodies declared that they
would rather continue to administer the facilities themselves and possibly rent them out to other parties.

According to the regional bodies, selling hospitals might endanger the
availability of healthcare services.
