ACCORDING to a transcript of the prosecution’s extortion case against businessman Ladislav Rehák and his sons, the latter allegedly threatened the family of an accountant who they believed had embezzled money, and said they would have her sister raped.
The case transcript, obtained by The Slovak Spectator, claims that the accountant, Andrea K., signed a document ackowledging a Sk5 million debt to the family for the money she had stolen, under pressure and the fear of violence. On the way to the public notary where the signing took place, Andrea K. Told police, she was kicked in the stomach by Robert J., one of the accused and the friend of Martin Rehák. The two men remain in pre-trial custody on extortion charges.
“They [the accused] threatened to have her [Andrea K.’s] sister fired from her job, and said her mother would never again work as an accountant, and that her father would be forced to retire early. Martin Rehák also said he would let a person named Biznis rape her sister,” prosecutor Iveta Kopčová wrote.
Ladislav Rehák and attorney Ernest Valko were released on Monday after spending five days in pre-trial custody on another extortion charge involving people who had allegedly embezzled money from Rehák. Rehák Sr. will thus be investigated on the two extortion charges while at liberty.
