“I suppose that my stay in hospital may end next week and the second part of my treatment – the rehabilitation – will start,” Richter told a press on June 14, as quoted by TASR.

The minister also said he stood on his feet for the first time again after the accident, adding that he will be able to walk again.

Describing the accident, which happened on the R1 expressway, Richter said the weather was rainy and the driver was not driving “very fast”, at about 100km/h. He also conceded that he did not have his seat belt on.

“I confess, I have never had my seat belt fastened as a minister when I was in the back seat,” Richter said, as quoted by TASR. “I probably will do so next time.”
