Robber left bank empty handed, nabbed by police hours later

A would-be bank robber, who tried – and failed – to rob a bank in Malacky in western Slovakia on April 4 was caught a mere two hours later. The man identified only as Rudolf, 49, of Malacky, already faces charges of robbery. On that day at approximately 13:45, Rudolf entered the bank, drew a knife on the clerks and demanded cash.

“Despite his threats, the bank employee chose not to give him any money, and subsequently the man fled from the bank,” the TASR newswire learned from Bratislava Regional Police spokesperson Karina Považanová. No injuries were sustained during the botched robbery.
