A Prešov district investigator has charged Roma journalist Denisa Havrľova with assault of a public official over an incident in February in which police officer Peter Sakala refused to give Havrľova his hand, and asked her whether she had a “hygiene certificate”. Havrľova later said the policeman’s behaviour was racially motivated, and received an apology from Interior Minister Ivan Šimko.
