IF THE construction of a new nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice begins, it will provide over 6,000 construction jobs. According to the promises of the Russian company Rosatom, which would like to build the new nuclear facility in cooperation with the state, the new plant could also create 500 new jobs after it goes into operation, the Sme daily reported.
In exchange, Rosatom wants the state to give it a guaranteed price of electricity from the new nuclear facility. If the state complies with the Russian firm’s plans consumers would pay €250 million more in electricity bills, Sme wrote.
Economy Ministry spokesman Stanislav Jurikovic told Sme that it is premature to talk about any subsidies.
