RTVS expects cumulative loss to reach €57.2 million in 2011

The cumulative loss of Radio and Television Slovakia (RTVS) in 2011 is expected to reach €57.2 million, the TASR was told by the RTVS spokesperson, Alexandra Stullerová Koreňová, on February 23. "According to the first analyses that the new RTVS management has at its disposal ... the loss in 2010 stands at €24.4 million," she said.

"According to the first analyses that the new RTVS management has at its disposal ... the loss in 2010 stands at €24.4 million," she said.

"The budget for 2011, drafted by the former management, which expected the Slovak Television's Third Channel to be shut down as of January 1, forecasted the loss for the year to reach €12.4 million," said Stullerová Koreňová.

"However, with the current way of running RTVS, the cumulative loss is likely to climb to €57.2 million." She said the new RTVS management is looking for ways to deal with the situation along with the Culture Ministry.
