The ruling coalition is working drafting a law on proving of origin of personal wealth in a form that would not be ruled unconstitutional.

The Constitutional Court labelled a similar law drafted by Smer and adopted in 2005 unconstitutional this summer. The draft will be submitted for discussion soon. His ruling coalition partners, ĽS-HZDS leader Vladimír Mečiar and SNS leader Ján Slota, have said they do not object to the idea of the bill, if it respects the Constitutional Court's ruling. Fico believes that a combination of penal, civil and tax legislation can achieve the overall objective of the previous bill.
