Rusko caught speeding in Austria

ECONOMY Minister Pavol Rusko paid a €700 (Sk28,000) fine for speeding in his BMW in neighboring Austria last weekend, according to the daily SME.

Rusko's car was travelling at 220 kilometres per hour (km/h) on a road with a 100 km/h speed limit.

According to Austrian police, the minister paid the fine without protest.

Rusko's spokesman Maroš Havran told SME that the minister "was
tired".

"He had been driving for more than nine hours and was hurrying home so that he could get some rest. He is sorry [for speeding] but he is glad that there was no accident," Havran said.
