AFTER his failure to push through a proposal on the unbundling of Slovensky plynárenský priemysel (SPP), which would have resulted in special dividends for the state to pay investment stimuli to investors, ministers with economic portfolios rejected a proposal on incentives for Korean tyre maker Hankook.
The company plans to build its European plant in Slovakia.
However, the economic ministers' board is only of an advisory nature. The Slovak cabinet is scheduled to discuss the proposal on incentives for Hankook in July, the daily SME reported.
Only two of the six economic ministers, Rusko and Agriculture Minister Zsolt Simon, voted for the proposed incentives for Hankook.
Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš said he rejected the proposed stimuli on the grounds that the proposed stimulus package would reduce stimuli for other projects as Slovakia has only limited resources.
