Pavol Rusko, the head of the ruling coalition ANO party, claimed to have been under surveillance by police, and said the party might leave the coalition unless its political partners explained the police behaviour.
Rusko maintained he had evidence police were recording his conversations, and said they had investigated his possible contact with reputed Mafia boss Mikuláš Černák following Černák's release from jail last year.
Rusko has denied contacting Černák, and has demanded his party be allowed to nominate the next director of the SIS secret service.
