This means that the landowners would receive Sk350 (€9) per square metre instead of Sk140 (€ 3.6) per square metre. This proposal has already been rejected once by the cabinet would cost the taxpayer around Sk360 million (€ 9.3 million).

"[Cabinet] ministers have already agreed that this issue will not be re-opened as it would set a very bad precedence for other former landowners, in Trnava for example," said Finance Ministry spokesperson Peter Papánek.

If Rusko's proposal is approved, the landowners would receive an additional Sk210 (€ 5.4) per square metre. "It would be correct," Rusko said.
