Mitro was responding to an article published by the British journal Eye Spy claiming that Russian intelligence was behind covert campaigns to discredit the SIS.

According to Mitro, the SIS had monitored increased activities on the part of Russian agents who tried to alter the course of Slovak politics.

However, Russia has made no official comments on the Eye Spy article.

Juraj Tomaga, spokesman of Slovakia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, said that the ministry did not intend to comment on the information.
