Chinese companies are interested in establishing plants in Slovakia, according to the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO), representatives of which recently retuned from the Chinese province of Heilongjiang, which hosted the Euro-China Business Meeting Heilongjiang 2012. The investors reportedly plan to invest in IT, energy, heating, construction, railway infrastructure and the automotive industry, the SITA newswire reported.
One of the companies planning to broaden its business here is Chinese PC maker Lenovo, which SARIO said laid out further plans to expand its activities in Slovakia. SARIO stated that Lenovo representatives reported that they had had positive experiences developing business in Slovakia. SARIO, however, did not state exactly what Lenovo is planning to do. Lenovo opened its operations centre for the EMEA region in Bratislava back in 2006.
