Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party told the TASR newswire that it does not mind the fact that three other opposition parties, the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), the Slovak Democratic and Christian union (SDKÚ), and Most-Híd party, intend to prepare a platform without SaS’ assistance, according to the party chair Richard Sulík. He added that SaS welcomes any form of cooperation with the three opposition parties.
"SaS represents a liberal party based on values of personal and economic freedoms, solidarity and common sense. We welcome any kind of cooperation with opposition conservative parties and, of course, don't mind these conservative parties forming their own platform," stated Sulík, as quoted by TASR.
Sulík spoke in reaction to plans by KDH, SDKÚ and Most-Híd to develop a so-called People's Platform aimed at adopting a joint stance on European issues.
"The threesome formed by Most-Híd, KDH and SDKÚ might become a driving force behind cooperation within the opposition," said Most-Híd chairman Bela Bugar.
