SaS unable to guarantee Ordinary People's support for state budget

Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) said on Tuesday, November 8, that it cannot guarantee that three MPs within its party caucus who are members of the Ordinary People faction will support the 2012 state budget in parliament. However, all SaS’ regular MPs will certainly support the draft, Economy Minister Juraj Miškov (SaS) said at a press conference on Tuesday, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

The Ordinary People faction, led by independent MP Igor Matovič, has made its support for the state budget conditional on the freezing of constitutional officials’ salaries and of state contributions to political parties. The faction says the money saved, amounting to €10 million, should be go towards the cost of organising the early general election due on March 10.
