Party chairman Richard Sulík said, as quoted by the SITA newswire, that SaS wants to defend the interests of Slovak citizens, and not those of foreign banks. The ESM is a joint tool of European Union member states designed to address economic problems in member countries by providing loans. SaS will, on the other hand, support the amendment to the Lisbon Treaty that enables the launch of the ESM.
