Atop the peak he was greeted by members of Matica Slovenska (a Slovak cultural heritage organisation) and other random participants in the mountain climb. Schuster addressed the crowd and wished them good weather on the descent.

The first national ascent of the peak was held on August 16, 1841 with the participation of Ľudovít Štúr, the most important member of the Slovak National Movement and a renowned linguist, and Michál Miloslav Hodza, a poet.
