President Rudolf Schuster is suing two Bratislava hospitals for injuring his health during a bout two years ago with a ruptured colon that required his evacuation to Vienna. He is asking Sk450,000 ($10,500) in damages.
The president alleges that doctors at the hospital mis-diagnosed his condition, and then botched an initial operation.
Then-Health Minister Tibot Šagát laid charges against several doctors for negligence, although the cases have not yet reached court.
