THE RULING Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) and the Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) are unable to agree on the distribution of €10 billion in eurofunds that Slovakia is to receive from 2007 to 2013.
The parties have proposed a different number of programs through which the money should be distributed. While SMK Construction Minister László Gyurovszky proposed that the money be distributed through 6 programs, the SDKÚ proposes at least 10. Nor do they agree on what should be included in the individual programs and what ministries should distribute money to the regions, the Pravda daily wrote.
"We will create a working group that will look for compromises," Gyurovszky said.
The SDKÚ wants as much money as possible to be spent on developing a knowledge-based economy.
