Pavol Frešo, an MP of the opposition SDKÚ-DS, called it “unacceptable” that Labour Minister Viera Tomanová has proposed to limit inheriting a second pension pillar policyholder’s savings if he or she dies before retirement, the SITA newswire wrote.
Frešo called the proposal another attack on the second pension pillar designed to encourage people to leave it. It is unacceptable because many people entered the second pension pillar because of the possibility of inheritance of the funds saved, he said. The SDKÚ will call on the rest of the ruling coalition "to pick up whatever remains of their basic humanity and not to allow this happen."
According to Tomanová, the capitalisation pension pillar was introduced to "assert liberal ideas influenced by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank." SITA
