“This team will not be a shadow government,” Dzurinda said, as quoted by SITA. “It will be an anti-crisis team, including mostly macroeconomists but also micro-economists and experts on social issues as well. The team should pull Slovakia out of its crisis situation.”

According to Dzurinda, the team will be composed not only of members of SDKÚ.

The party is now seeking to exert a stronger influence on the broad Slovak society since only in that way can it influence the administration of public affairs, according to Dzurinda.

“We want to have stronger influence, because in 1998 – 2006 we showed that we could lead Slovakia out of a crisis situation,” Dzurinda said. “We pulled Slovakia out of 20-percent unemployment when there was no money in the banks, when the interest rates for small entrepreneurs were reaching astronomical percentages. We feel the responsibility to use our experience.” SITA
