Coalition politicians have reacted with surprise and dismay to the recent statement of Labour Minister Peter Magvaši that the sale of a 49% stake in gas utility SPP, where a tender is nearing conclusion, should be revised. Magvaši is a member of the socialist SDĽ ruling coalition party whose members have recently indicated they would like to reverse the cabinet-approved sale plan. Sources close to the sale have said that the SDĽ, if determined to derail the sale, has enough influence on the tender process to do so.
