State energy utility Slovenské elektrárne has been found to have participated in a consortium with Italian firm E-Noi that bid in recent tenders for two energy distributors without authorisation from the Economy Ministry, its majority shareholder.
While SE spokesperson Alena Melicharková has said the utility was only acting in keeping with the law, Economy Minister Ľubomír Harach has said that personal consequences may follow. The heavily indebted SE was to have financed the consortium’s bids.
