Second-degree heat warning announced for Wednesday

The Slovak Hydro-meteorological Institute (SHMÚ) has issued the medium - second-level heat warning for Wednesday, June 11, in western and southern Slovakia, including Bratislava.

The Slovak Hydro-meteorological Institute (SHMÚ) has issued the medium - second-level heat warning for Wednesday, June 11, in western and southern Slovakia, including Bratislava.

Temperatures may reach between 35-36 degrees Celsius in Bratislava and Trnava regions, the TASR newswire quoted the SHMÚ as saying. A first-degree warning has been issued for Nitra, Trenčín and Banská Bystrica regions where temperatures of 33-34 degrees Celsius are expected. SHMÚ also warned that such high temperatures can place an excessive burden on certain individuals and people should pay close attention to their drinking regime.
