Central European universities have become exclusive partners of the most significant security conference in Slovakia, due to take place in Bratislava during a 22-23 October NATO defence ministers’s meeting.
Students are being given the chance to be part of the discussion with the NATO secretary general and other guests at the event through an interactive video-conference. The universities chosen include: the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, the Central European University in Budapest, Masaryk University in Brno and the National Defence University in Warsaw.
Over 450 participants from more than 30 countries from all over the world have been registered for the conference so far. The organisers expect the number of participants to double thanks to the videoconference interface, the SITA newswire wrote. Moreover, the number of people engaged in the conference is expected to be increased further by its live-streaming via the www.ncbc.sk webpage during the whole conference. Thus, an unlimited number of people around the world are able to watch the event in English. The "New Challenges - Better Capabilities" conference should create an interface between closed sessions of defence ministers and the discussion among the broader international audience.
