SIS head wins political backing

Vladimir Mitro, head of the SIS secret service, emerged from a closed-door meeting with the members of the parliamentary SIS oversight committee with the support of both opposition and government MPs.

Mitro has been under fire recently following an article in the Jane's Intelligence Digest magazine that accused the SIS of using "dirty tricks" and organising illegal weapons sales.
