Six illegal immigrants detained in eastern Slovakia

The Slovak border police have detained six refugees in the Sobrance district.

The Slovak border police have detained six refugees in the Sobrance district.

Two children and four adults were detained on March 13. The two children from Somalia caught picked up by police at the Inovce village bus stop. As they are minors they will be put under the care of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and the Family.

The four other refugees were caught on camera near Vyšné Nemecké.

Agneša Kopernická, spokeswoman for the Sobrance border police directorate, told the SITA newswire that the three men and one woman were detained some hundred metres from the state border.

One of the men was jailed and will be extradited to Austria on the basis of an international warrant, as he has been accused of stealing there. The other three were sent back to Ukraine on the basis of its re-admission agreement with Slovakia.
