The governments of Slovakia and Bulgaria have agreed to hold a joint session next year, it has emerged from a meeting of the two countries' premiers that took place as part of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov's two-day visit to Slovakia, which started on Monday, November 12.
"I welcome the proposal on the joint session of the Bulgarian and Slovak governments. The recently organised meeting with the Czech Republic [October 29] saw the signing of [a number of] agreements and had great importance," conceded Slovakia's Premier Robert Fico, as quoted by the TASR newswire. Meanwhile, the joint session of Bulgaria and Slovakia is slated to take place on May 24, 2013 in Bulgaria.
In this regard, Fico has already asked Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák to carry out the preparations necessary for the trip with his Bulgarian counterpart Nikolay Mladenov. The meeting should also see the signing of relevant agreements concerning economic co-operation. Borisov added that the Bulgarian Cabinet has already held a similar session with the governments of Israel, Turkey, Greece and Romania. "It's a very good practice, as many things can be dealt with at once [during such sessions]."
